Holistic Inclusive Visionary Education Program - HIVE
The
HIVE program supports the diverse needs of the school. Support services are
inclusive and based on every child being welcome and able to function in the
classroom.
The HIVE program supports class teachers, provides resources,
materials and assistive technology if necessary. Students are identified for
support by diagnosis or through a referral to the inclusive education committee
that meets weekly. Intervention groups
operate with students to work on English, Mathematics, social / emotional /
self-regulation as students work on their own goals and learning journeys.
HIVE
staff work with families, outside agencies and specialists to provide a network
of support for the highest of needs. The HIVE program is located in D Block
behind the library with newly refurbished facilities, is a welcoming area for
students to feel supported.
Support services are based in this block with HIVE
teachers, teacher aides, Guidance Officer, Speech Language Pathologists and
Occupational Therapist working scheduled days. The HIVE block has therapy rooms
that are accessed by outside agencies on request with HIVE staff.
The HIVE
program is an integral part of Moreton Downs State School community.
