Moreton Downs State School Annual Classroom Awards

Growth Through Knowledge Awards: These awards are designed to acknowledge and promote academic, cultural and social achievements in Prep to Year 6 students at Moreton Downs State School. Selection for awards is guided by academic achievements and adherence to the school behaviour expectations and keys of being: Respectful, Safe and a Learner.  All awards are considered using performance data in the targeted area, as well as improvement in results in that area.

Award Recipients

In each class one student is recognised for each award, this includes any multi-level class. Awards may be presented to either the student with the highest achievement or a student having made significant improvement and contribution in the Award area.

1. Classroom Mathematics Award: Highest or most improved mathematics results.  Recipient selection informed by relevant school data collection devices.
2. Classroom English Award: Highest or most improved English results. Recipient selection informed by relevant school data collection devices.
3. Classroom / School Community Spirit Award: This award is to recognise the student who has exhibited the 3 Keys in an outstanding manner and/or displayed major improvements in the 3 Keys. 
4. Classroom Persistence Award: This award is to recognise the student who has applied effort in the face of challenges. This student may have displayed growth in academic results, behaviour, social/emotional relationships, attendance, school-wide involvement, etc.
5. Classroom All-Rounder Award: This award recognises the student who has participated in a diverse range of activities, groups and experiences (curricular and extra-curricular) and shown a great sense of school pride and initiative. This student will have displayed high or improved results.
